The 2nd ODI between India and England resulted in a huge loss for the hosts as visitors bagged the contest by six wickets well within 44 overs. India’s bowling and mainly the spin department has been at the receiving end of all the criticism. India posted a fine target of 337 runs for the opponents to take on, but some clean hitting by Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes left all the bowlers in a shock.
In the same line, former English skipper and commentator Michael Vaughan got back to his usual ways and fired shots at India. Vaughan stated that India should learn how to play an attacking game in the middle overs just like what England did. Seeing the batting order depth of India, it is capable enough to reach the mark of 375 runs easily, reckoned Vaughan.
“Today should be a lesson to India … Playing it safe for 40 overs with Bat might cost them in a World Cup at home in 2 yrs. They have enough power & depth to get scores of 375 + on flat wickets. England leading the way with this approach #INDvEN,” tweeted Vaughan.

Talking about the bowling department of India, only Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Prasidh Krishna kept some check on the run flow of the opponents. On the other hand, Krunal Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav were hammered recklessly by the batsmen in front. Meanwhile, Vaughan didn’t forget to fire shots at Virat Kohli’s captaincy too. He added that Kohli took some wrong decision, and he should have let his best bowlers come into action at the correct time.
“These bowling tactics are very very odd! Surely India must bowl the best bowlers NOW! Very poor Captaincy …. #INDvENG,” stated Vaughan.

Talking about the willow show of hosts, KL Rahul came up with his best as he smashed a century to push India to post a fine total. He was supported well enough by Rishabh Pant and Kohli, who chipped in with their significant fifties at the crucial moment.
