India vs England: Prasidh Krishna dismisses Jos Buttler for a duck with a searing yorker
Prasidh Krishna left Jos Buttler clueless with the stunning delivery.
Prasidh Krishna has further enhanced his reputation by castling Jos Buttler with a stunning delivery in the ongoing second ODI between India and England at the Maharashtra Cricket Association in Pune. Chasing a mammoth total of 337, England were off to a solid start as Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy and Ben Stokes took India’s bowlers to the cleaners.
Roy and Bairstow once again shared a century-plus stand as they added 110 runs off just 87 deliveries for the first wicket. Rohit Sharma ended the stand when he ran out Roy with a brilliant piece of fielding. It was followed by another century-plus stand between Bairstow and Stokes. The duo shared 175 runs for the second wicket before India managed to get rid of them in quick succession.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar broke the stand when he dismissed Stokes for 99. Stokes’ 99 came off just 52 balls and was laced with 4 fours and 10 sixes. Two runs later, Prasidh picked up his first wicket of the game when he dismissed Bairstow for 124. And just three balls later, he dismissed Buttler with a stunning delivery to turn the game on its head.
After bowling two dot balls, Prasidh breached Buttler’s defence with a searing yorker. Buttler had no answer for the ball as the India youngster bowled the yorker right at the base of off stump. Buttler was late in getting his bat down and paid the price for it. He was well beaten for pace and could only see the ball hitting the stumps.
Here is a clip of that delivery from Prasidh Krishna:
Earlier this week, Prasidh made a memorable debut in ODIs during the first game against England at the same venue. The Karnataka star picked up 4 wickets and played a crucial role in India’s 4-wicket win over the tourists.
India’s big total
Talking about the ongoing game, India scored a big total of 336 for 6 in the allotted 50 overs after being asked to bat first. KL Rahul starred with the bat by scoring a century while Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli scored fifties. England comfortably won the encounter though they faced a few hiccups in the middle.
