India vs England: Virender Sehwag adds a funny angle to Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma watching Jack Leach
Leach has been at the receiving end of Pant's fearless batting.
Virender Sehwag, the former Indian cricketer, was, without a doubt, an unconventional cricketer during his playing days. He didn’t mind taking the attack to the opposition from the first ball itself irrespective of the format he was playing in. Even in the first ball of a Test match, he didn’t mind playing shots like the uppercut and playing shots by taking the aerial route regularly.
His approach showed how much unorthodox he was and he didn’t play by the textbook by any stretch of the imagination. Even when he’s not playing, the veteran has shown his unconventional side on social media platforms. The Nawab of Najafgarh is pretty much active on Twitter and Instagram. Recently, Sehwag commented on a picture from India’s series against England.
Virender Sehwag shows his unconventional side again
He shared a rather witty comment on a picture where Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma was watching Jack Leach. Sehwag captioned the picture and wrote, “Watching Leach as if galli se Baraat nikal rahi hai. #pant #rohit.”
Here’s the post:
Pant and Rohit have had contrasting fortunes in the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, also known as the Chepauk. In the Brits’ first innings, Rohit dropped a simple catch, denying Washington Sundar a wicket. Sundar wasn’t able to get a wicket from there onwards. Rohit didn’t have a great time even when he came to bat with India chasing a massive total.
He started with a four, but then fell prey to Jofra Archer. Jos Buttler took a simple catch behind the wickets. Pant, on the other hand, carried on from where he left against Australia at The Gabba in Brisbane where he notched an unbeaten 89 to take India through to a win. At the Chepauk, he started playing hits shots from the word go, taking the pressure off Cheteshwar Pujara.
Pant got to his half-century off a mere 40 balls. He was severe on Jack Leach, hitting him for quite a few sixes over the leg-side boundary. He was also involved in a 119-stand with Pujara, who got out to Dominic Bess in the 51st over of the Indian innings.
