India vs Pakistan series might happen: With the political turmoil surrounding the cricketing relations between the two Asian heavyweights since forever, India and Pakistan’s cricket boards are trying hard to get a bilateral series between these two teams.

The last time these two teams played a bilateral series was 3 years ago in 2012-13 season in India. That however was a short series, with 2 T20Is and 3 ODIs. The fans of both the teams would be hoping that this around the series lasts longer and we get a Test series as well.

In last few weeks a lot has been said. Shahryar Khan, Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chairman has ruled out the possibility of Pakistan touring to India citing the agreement between PCB and BCCI in 2014 to play 6 bilateral series’ between 2015-2023. And the next series was supposed to be Pakistan’s home series.

BCCI too have ruled out Pakistan as the host for obvious security reasons and the fact that there has been no International cricket in Pakistan since 2009 barring the recent Zimbabwe tour of Pakistan. Shashank Manohar, BCCI’s recently elected chief is sceptical about playing a series in the UAE citing corruption/match fixing fears. The respective boards are looking at Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as prospective venues if rumour mills are to be believed. This won’t be the 1st time that Pakistan will play “hosts” in the 2010 series against Australia in England.

IPL Chairman, Rajiv Shukla on the other hand has suggested that if Pakistan gives proper security assurances to ICC, India would have no qualms playing in Lahore instead of UAE, which has seen empty stands for most of its games.

Let us hope that in due time, all the details are announced for this epic series. Stay tuned with CricTracker for more updates on this series.
