India vs South Africa, 2019: 3rd T20I – Statistical Preview

Yet another Virat Kohli master-class helped India to take an unassailable 1-0 lead in the T20I series against South Africa. Kohli starred in the 150-run chase by scoring an unbeaten 72 to see his side through to a 7-wicket win. The South Africans failed to capitalize on the start they got in the Mohali only to finish with 149 which is at least 30 runs short of the par score. India will aim to finish off the series at the Bangalore’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium with another victory.

2-2 – India’s win-loss record in the T20I format at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Pakistan in 2012 and Australia this year defeated the hosts while chasing a target at this venue. India sneaked in a 1-run win over Bangladesh during the 2016 WT20 and thumped England by 75 runs in the 2017 T20I here.

3 – Number of times in 30 T20I chases that Virat Kohli has failed to cross the 20-run mark. In the remaining 27 innings, he ended up scoring a fifty on 15 instances. During successful chases, Kohli has 12 fifties in 23 innings and only one score under 20 runs – 19 vs West Indies in Lauderhill, 2019.
