India vs South Africa: Faf du Plessis set to miss connecting flight ahead of Test series
He slammed the British Airways for the poor service.
After the conclusion of the ongoing three-match T20I series, South Africa are scheduled to lock horns with India in as many Tests, the first of which will take place from October 2 to 6 in Visakhapatnam. Even as the side in the shortest format is being led by Quinton de Kock, the Test side will be captained by Faf du Plessis. Meanwhile, the latter has had to face some issues of late.
Du Plessis is set to miss the connecting flight to India from Dubai. The same is due to a delay from British Airways. The captain was definitely not happy with its services. To start with, his flight was delayed by four hours and he had to wait 10 hours for the next flight. The agony didn’t stop there as the airlines didn’t deliver his bag in time. Du Plessis called it as one of his worst flying experiences.
In his first tweet, du Plessis wrote, “Finally, on a plane to Dubai after a 4-hour delay . Now I’m gonna miss my flight to India, next flight is only 10 hours later.”
In the second, he wrote, “When life gives you lemons , make lemonade .My cricket bag hasn’t arrived !!!!!!!!!! Actually, can just smile about it but, wow @British_Airways today was one of my worst flying experiences where everything went wrong. Now just hoping I’ll have my bats back eventually.”

Faf straining of late
As far as action on the ground is concerned, Faf hasn’t had the best of times. He was the skipper of the Proteas in the 2019 World Cup. South Africa bowed out of the championship without much competition after managing to finish at the bottom half of the points table. Du Plessis had to face a lot of criticism and brickbats and his future as the captain also came under the clouds.
He’ll be looking to make amends in the red-ball fixtures. Before the Test series, the visitors will play a three-day practice match with Board Presidents XI in Vizianagaram. The second and third Test will be played in Pune and Ranchi, starting October 10 and 19 respectively.
