Indian batsman Kedar Jadhav's new drill on a new day
Kedar would be keen to hit his straps on the cricket pitch at the earliest.
Kedar Jadhav made his international debut back in 2014 but hasn’t been able to cement his place in the Indian team. He is an experienced campaigner in the domestic circuit having played 74 first-class, 126 List A, and 105 T20s. He has represented the national team in 40 ODIs and nine T20Is in which he has scored 798 and 122 runs respectively. The 33-year-old also has 16 wickets in the 50-overs format for the Men in Blue.
Jadhav is also known for his indifferent bowling action where he bowls with a sidearm action. The action hasn’t backfired for him as he has picked up some crucial wickets in crunch moments of a number of contests. He first came to the limelight when he notched a 29-ball fifty for the Delhi Daredevils against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2010 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Currently, he is recovering from a hamstring injury which he suffered during this year’s IPL. The mishap occurred in the Chennai Super Kings’ first match against the Mumbai Indians at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He hobbled off the park during CSK’s run chase, however, came back to win his team the match in the final over bowled by Mustafizur Rahman.
A resurgent Kedar Jadhav
The injury was venomous enough to rule him out of the entire IPL and English all-rounder David Willey replaced him. Thereafter, he underwent a surgery and recently mentioned that he would be making a comeback in another two to three weeks. The Indian team has plenty of assignments ahead of them and Kedar would be keen to hit his straps on the cricket pitch at the earliest.
He will also need to pass the much-debated yo-yo test in order to stake his claim back into the Indian team. Meanwhile, he is busy attaining the desired level of fitness. The Pune-born cricketer took to Twitter and posted a video where he can be seen training with full intensity, Along with the video, he wrote, “New day.. New drill..”
