We welcome you to the Star family and hope you enjoy driving this Star as much as we enjoy watching your cover drives.”
Meanwhile, Iyer will be seen in action in a five-match T20I series against South Africa. The series against Proteas will be played in India with the first encounter to take place in New Delhi on June 9, followed by matches in Cuttack (June 12), Visakhapatnam (June 14), Rajkot (June 17), and the final match in Bengaluru on June 19 (Sunday). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named KL Rahul to lead the Indian side.
Talking about Iyer’s stint as KKR skipper, the two-time champions finished seventh on the points table of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The Men in Purple won six out of 14 matches and were knocked out from the league stage. The skipper himself did not have a great tournament as he got several starts, but could not manage to convert them into big ones. He would want to perform well in the upcoming series against South Africa and try to cement his position in the strong Indian batting line-up.
