Indian coach Ravi Shastri said it is a privilege to watch Hardik Pandya bat
Shastri tweeted a picture of Pandya celebrating his achievement.
Indian head coach Ravi Shastri took the responsibility on his shoulder for the second time amongst many controversies. Former Indian head coach, whom Ravi Shastri succeeded, Anil Kumble resigned from his position despite giving a good performance in terms of the result of his team. But Shastri has silenced all haters as the revamped Indian team is giving the fans some amazing performances.
At the moment, the men in blue are simply having a stroll in the park against the Lankans, that too in Lanka’s own backyard. Though the current Sri Lankan team is merely a shadow of its glorious past and as the little master Sunil Gavaskar said, any elite Ranji trophy team will be able to beat them, the innings of Hardik Pandya on Sunday was something special and gave the spectators a reason to watch the otherwise dead match.
Hardik’s blitzkrieg knock of 108 runs in 96 balls was filled with 8 boundaries and 7 gigantic sixes. In the 116th over of Indian innings, Pandya launched the assault on Malinda Pushpakumara and smashed 26 runs in a single over. By doing so, not only did he spark a new interest in the spectators but became the Indian to score the maximum number of runs in an over in a Test match.
Ravi Shastri’s tweet
The Gujarat based 23-year-old cricketer’s inning was very soothing to the eyes of all cricket enthusiasts barring the Sri Lankan loyalists and Malinda Pushpakumara. Head coach Ravi Shastri was very much impressed with the young lad’s performance in his very first Test assignment.
The former Indian cricketer ventured his amazement through Twitter where he uploaded the picture of a charismatic Hardik flashing the victory symbol towards the Indian camp. The caption of the stunning capture from Sunday read “Sensational striking. Privilege to watch @hardikpandya7. Well done #SLvIND #TeamIndia.”
