Indian fans troll James Vince for his 'series wrap up' tweet
He has been recalled to the side as cover for Jonny Bairstow.
Things were going well for England in the ongoing Test series until they arrived at Nottingham. Joe Root and his men edged India marginally in the first game and established their supremacy in the second to lead by 2-0. Just when it looked like India were going to get hammered in yet another away Test series, Virat Kohli and his men stepped up and bagged the third match to stay alive in the five-match contest.
All of a sudden, England were not sure about their team combination, especially the two openers, Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings, who have struggled completely. The wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow suffered a fracture to his finger while keeping and his participation in the fourth game remains an area of concern for them which is why James Vince has been recalled to the side as his cover.
The pleasing right-hand batsman had got a surprise call-up last year earlier in the Ashes. He made a mark in the opening day of the series by scoring 83 but failed to get off from there as he accumulated only 156 runs in the next eight innings with most of his dismissals came from behind the stumps. However, he deserved to come back this time around. He has been piling on the runs in the County circuit and averages 56.46 this season in nine matches.
He took to Twitter to express the excitement over his selection and thanked all his fans for the support during the tough period. Moreover, Vince also hoped that England manages to wrap up the series with a victory at the Ageas Bowl which did not go well with the Indian supporters as they took a dig at the batsman and also trolled him.
Will Vince play?
England are fretting over Bairstow’s fitness as they are hoping for him to play as the specialist batsman. If he gets fit in time then James Vince will surely have to wait a little longer to feature in the playing XI. The fourth Test between the two teams will begin on August 30 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. Though the hosts are leading the series, India have the momentum with them.
