Another opener who shot to fame, failing to live by it is Murali Vijay. He has lost his place to the talented batsman Rohit Sharma at the top of the order for the national team.

He has become a specialist opener in the Test matches and is missing from the Indian limited overs squad. The Tamil Nadu batsman missed the IPL due to an injury and there was no chance that he was going to be picked in the Champions Trophy squad.

Vinay Kumar, burst out into the scene during the Champions Trophy in the year 2013. Since then the bowler from Karnataka has thrown all the opportunities that have been given to him. The bowler has then moved on to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL after being dropped from the squad.

Currently, the pacer does not feature in the playing XI and is warming the benches of Mumbai Indians, a sight which is shameful to watch after his sudden burst into the arena.

If there was ever a talent all-rounder who would rue his missed opportunity, it would be Irfan Pathan. The talented all-rounder who started his career with a tremendous performance at the top level since then has failed to retain the form. The all-rounder was picked up in the squad thanks to a few injuries in the National team.

Irfan since then has been frozen out from the Indian Premier League in the 2017 edition after going unsold in the auction. It is such a shameful sight for the all-rounder after his initial burst into the Indian team. The all-rounder is still playing at the top level for his domestic side Baroda and was recently picked up by Gujarat Lions as a replacement for Dwayne Bravo.
