The top 2 teams on the points table, both of which have qualified for the playoffs, will meet each other in Indian T20 League match no. 50. Delhi are currently on top of the table, while Chennai, with equal number of wins, rank 2 due to a lower net run-rate. Going into this game, both the teams would be looking to retain their spots in order to get two chances to play the final. Here is all you need to know for both the teams before picking your Fantain and Dream11 teams for the Chennai vs Delhi game.

Team News –

Chennai

Captain MS Dhoni, Faf du Plessis and Ravindra Jadeja missed their previous game against Mumbai are likely to return for this one because they don’t want to slip to the third position on the points table. This is a must-win for Chennai if they want to remain on Top 2.

Likely playing XI – Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina (C), Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, N Jagadeesan (wk), Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir.

Delhi

It is unlikely that Delhi will make any changes. Once again on the Chennai pitch spin will play a major role and Amit Mishra and Axar Patel are in good form.

Likely playing XI – Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Colin Ingram, Axar Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Sandeep Lamichhane, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma.

Fantain XI

Wicket-keeper – Rishabh Pant

Batsmen – Murali Vijay, Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan ©, Shreyas Iyer,

All-Rounders – Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja

Bowlers – Imran Tahir (vc), Kagiso Rabada, Harbhajan Singh, Deepak Chahar

Captain and vice-captain options:

Shikhar Dhawan started the season on a low with successive failures, but bounced back to form against Kolkata at Eden Gardens and has not looked back ever since. The most experienced batsman in the Delhi camp, Dhawan could play a major role in countering Imran Tahir and the like and is a good choice for your Fantain captain.

Imran Tahir has been MS Dhoni’s trump card this season and the wrecker in chief. Chennai pitch needs no introduction, and you should know why the spinner will be the key for Chennai once again. With his crucial breakthroughs, Tahir as a vice-captain is a good option.
