Indian World Cup winning team has refused to see any screening of 83: Director Kabir Khan
Kabir Khan also added that he is eager for the film to hit the big screens on 24th December 2021.
The film 83, is a hugely awaited one. The film chronicles the historic triumph of the Indian side in the 1983 World Cup, with the legendary Kapil Dev at the helm of affairs.
The film has Ranveer Singh playing the role of Kapil Dev and also features Deepika Padukone as well. And, the director of 83, Kabir Khan has opened up on the film. Khan said that this was a project that he had thought of for years. Khan also added that he is eager for the film to finally hit the big screens on 24th December 2021.
“It’s been a labour of love that we have nurtured for years. I cannot wait for everyone to finally watch that come alive on screen,” said Khan in an interview with The Indian Express.

Kabir Khan also added that Kapil Dev told him that the entire 1983 World Cup-winning team will watch the film after it has released in the theatres. Khan also added that the members of the 1983 World Cup-winning side have refused to see the film before its theatrical release.
“Kapil Dev sir told us that they will all sit together as a team and watch 83 when it’s released. They have refused to see any screening,” added Khan.
Khan also revealed that he would have gone with Deepika Padukone as the female lead for the film even if she was not married to Ranveer Singh. Khan concluded by stating that Padukone is a fantastic actor.
“I would have gone to Deepika even if she was not married to Ranveer. I have admired her over the years and she is a fantastic actor, with such an amazing presence,” concluded Kabir Khan.
