India's current Test squad and their experience of playing with pink ball
A total of eight players have played day-night matches with pink ball in first-class cricket.
4. Kuldeep Yadav and Ishant Sharma
After the recent Test series against South Africa, it is evident that Kuldeep Yadav and Ishant Sharma will be considered as back-up options. Both will get a chance only if India need a 5th specialist bowling option. However, among the current squad, the duo is the most experienced one among the bowlers in the pink ball first-class cricket.
The chinaman Kuldeep played all three games of India Red led by Yuvraj Singh in the 2016/17 Duleep Trophy. He took 6-wicket haul in the 4th innings of the tournament opener against India Green. Kuldeep finished with 17 wickets at an average of 27.88 and finished as leading wicket-taker. The tournament helped the young spinner to make his Test debut by end of the season.
Ishant Sharma, on the other hand, featured in the Duleep Trophy during the 2017/18 season. He played two games for India Blue including the final of the tournament. Ishant had figures of 7-2-15-1 in the league match which was affected by the rain. It turned out to be the only wicket he picked in the tournament as he bowled 20 wicketless overs in the final which was played on a dust bowl.
