Chief Selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board and former captain of Pakistan team, Inzamam-ul-Haq is all set to join the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandar, playing the role of an advisor.

It was only a few days back when reports started to emerge from PCB about Najam Sethi provisionally allowing Inzy to take part in two separate projects along with his role as the Chief selector with the cricket board.

PCB provisionally allowed Inzy to buy a team in the inaugural T10 League apart from handling the mentorship of the Lahore Qalandars. Apparently, Pakistan Super League franchise Lahore Qalandars was interested in obtaining the services of the former Pakistan captain while Inzamam-ul-Haq is eager to purchase a team in the TCL which is scheduled to be held in UAE.

According to the negotiations, Inzamam will not receive his monthly salary from the Cricket Board while being a part of the Lahore Qalandars as a mentor. Also, Inzamam will be prohibited to sit in the dugouts like Sir Vivian Richards – the mentor of the Quetta Gladiators or during the players’ draft.

Waz hopes to produce players “capable of competing and excelling.”

“Inzamam’s vision and experience will be extremely helpful for Qalandars,” read the statement issued on Sunday. The CEO of Lahore Qalandars, Atif Rana was elated to rope in Inzy for the coveted position. “We are excited to have Inzi Bhai on board with us,” commented Rana according to reports from Dawn News.

It was announced earlier this year Wasim Akram would be appointed as the Director of Cricketing Operations for the brand new franchise of the PSL, Multan Sultans. Interestingly, Wasim Akram would also be mentoring the TCL franchise Maratha Arabians, which would be captained by Virender Sehwag.

Akram was also associated with franchises such as Kolkata Knight Riders and PSL champions Islamabad United, hoped to produce players “capable of competing and excelling.”
