A fairytale win for Mumbai Indians improved their already good record at the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s home ground M. Chinnaswamy stadium as the visitors fought back in a low scoring game after Samuel Badree struck them with a hat-trick. A brilliant knock under pressure from Kieron Pollard with the support from the Pandya brothers spoiled Virat Kohli’s comeback game. Here we look at the records and stats created during the game.

1 – Samuel Badree not only recorded the first hat-trick of IPL 2017 but also the first maiden over of this season which came in the same over.

4 – AB de Villiers’ average vs Krunal Pandya in IPL. ABD got out 3 times in 3 innings in Krunal’s bowling scoring 12 runs out of the 21 balls he faced.

6 – Average of Virat Kohli vs Mitchell McClenaghan in IPL. McClenaghan got Kohli out 3 times in 26 balls he bowled and scored 12 runs out of the 21 balls he faced.

8 – Number of wins in Twenty20 cricket for Mumbai Indians at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the 2nd most wins for any team at this venue. The Royal Challengers Bangalore won 34 T20s at the venue.

9 – Runs conceded by Samuel Badree in this game, the joint 2nd fewest by any bowler in a T20 at Chinnaswamy stadium. Praveen Kumar and Mohammad Hafeez conceded 8 runs in 2012 IPL and 2014 CLT20 respectively. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also conceded just 9 runs vs Pakistan in a T20I in 2012.

37 – Number of wins as captain in IPL for Rohit Sharma, the 3rd most for any captain in IPL. Only MS Dhoni (83) and Gautam Gambhir (63) have more wins as captain than Rohit.

93 – Partnership stand between Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya, the 4th highest stand for the 6th wicket in IPL. Highest is 122* between Pollard and Rayudu, also for MI vs RCB at the same venue in 2012.

142/5 – RCB’s total of 142/5 in this game is their 2nd lowest total at Chinnaswamy stadium while batting first since 2010. Lowest is 140/4 also vs MI in 2011.

150 – Number of sixes Virat Kohli has hit in IPL so far. He became the 5th player to hit 150 IPL sixes after Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and AB de Villiers.

7048 – Runs scored by Kieron Pollard in Twenty20 cricket so far. He became the 5th player to score 7000 runs in Twenty20 cricket. Among the 5 players, he is the slowest to get to the mark and the only player without a century.
