Mumbai Indians have emerged as one of the most consistent teams in the Indian Premier League. From Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Lasith Malinga and many more, they have boasted off several iconic cricketers over the years. The Indian domestic contingent has also stepped up to the plate for the franchise. With three title victories, they are perching at the top as the team with most IPL victories. They have made the Wankhede Stadium their fortress where they have decimated oppositions with sheer disdain. After the new retention policy, Mumbai will be looking to build a strong team for the upcoming edition of the IPL. In the limited opportunities for the Kiwis, the left-armer has turned out to be a prolific wicket-taker. The stupendous performances earned him a spot in the prestigious Indian Premier League. He was bagged by the Mumbai Indians in 2015 for 30 Lakhs and ever since he has been a success story for them. He immediately stamped his authority with 18 wickets for the eventual champions. Subsequently, he was retained by the Mukesh Ambani-owned franchise for the next season. Apart from possessing the ability to smash the leather, the Baroda pacer also has the ability to bowl a heavy ball. He was initially grabbed by the Mumbai Indians for 10 Lakhs back in the 2015 Indian Premier League auctions. Ever since he has played several match-winning hands and has grown in stature as a cricketer. With an ability to clear the ropes with ease, he has turned out to be a hot prospect for Indian cricket. However, in a recent interview, the all-rounder has expressed his desire to go under the hammer in the upcoming IPL auctions. Nevertheless, if he is retained by his current franchise, he is set to play a major role in Mumbai Indians title-defending campaign. #3 Jasprit Bumrah Jasprit Bumrah. With a clever mix of pace and bounce, the lanky fast bowler has grabbed eyeballs, so much so that he is currently regarded as India’s go-to bowler in limited overs cricket. The Gujarat pacer was picked by Mumbai Indians for a whopping 1.20 crores in the 2014 Auctions. Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians started bidding from a base price of 20 Lakhs, which went on for quite a while. However, it was Mumbai who eventually won the bidding war. Ever since he has ruffled the best in the business with his ability to hurl Yorkers at will. He is effortlessly one of the most devastating batsmen the world has ever seen. Moreover, he is also agile as a fieldsman. Given his astounding power-hitting abilities, he should most definitely be retained by his current franchise. #1 Rohit Sharma Rohit Sharma. However, he transformed himself into a cool and collected customer and is currently one of India’s batting mainstays in limited overs cricket. Rohit Sharma was bagged by the Deccan Chargers for $75000 in 2008 and he represented the franchise till 2010. In 2011, he was grabbed by the Mumbai Indians for $2millions. He was handed the leadership role in 2013 and it paid dividends as Mumbai stormed to their maiden IPL title. 2015 and 2017 saw a couple of more triumphs for the Mumbai Indians.
