IPL 2018: Anushka Sharma cheers Virat Kohli and RCB at the Chinnaswamy
While Bangalore failed to win the game, the camera did manage to capture some candid moments
The season hasn’t been quite fruitful for the Royal Challengers Bangalore so far. Their bowling unit has been a mess which hasn’t helped their cause. It lacks any international star and that has been hurting RCB’s prospects dearly. While the batting lineup is phenomenal, the leaking of runs has led to targets of above 200 being chased.
The likes of Chris Woakes, Corey Anderson, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj have failed to repose any kind of faith in the management. Even the spinners have been quite topsy-turvy and failed to execute the team plans. While the bowlers have done good in one-off matches as individuals, they have failed to impress together as a team.
The same was witnessed in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders. Riding on Virat Kohli’s fantastic half century, RCB posted a total of 175 in their quota of 20 overs. Openers Quinton De Kock and Brendon McCullum made useful contributions before the skipper took it in his hands.
However, the bowlers failed to create any potential threat to the Kolkata batsmen. Chris Lynn anchored the innings while the duo of Sunil Narine and Robin Uthappa provided good support. While Nitish Rana’s return to the pavilion followed by Andre Russell’s duck put some pressure on the Knight Riders, Karthik’s quickfire cameo ensured a victory.
However, there was a presence in the field that kept Virat Kohli at his toes all the time. His biggest source of inspiration, his wife Anushka Sharma was in the stands cheering for RCB. While Bangalore failed to win the game, the camera did manage to capture some candid moments.
