IPL 2018: Ben Laughlin draws comparison of Sanju Samson with Don Bradman
Sanju Samson smashed the RCB bolwers apart and played the match-winning knock.
Sanju Samson has recently been in tremendous touch in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is currently the leading run-scorer in the event with 178 runs in three matches at a stupendous average of 89. Recently, he played a jaw-dropping knock against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
The knock ripped apart the hosts who were playing the Go Green-initiated game. He came in at the fall of the Ajinkya Rahane’s wicket and didn’t go berserk from the outset. Rather, he put his head down early in the innings. As the innings progressed, the knock gained in momentum and he went for an onslaught in the dying stages of the Rajasthan Royals innings, which tilted the game in their favour.
Samson also plundered 10 sixes in his knock of 92 runs off 42 balls. The knock propelled the Royals beyond the psychological barrier of the 200-run mark, which eventually turned out to be a bridge too far for the Challengers, RCB started handsomely through Virat Kohli and Quinton de Kock, but lost the plot with a flurry of wickets in the middle-overs and eventually crashed to defeat by 19 runs.
The appreciation by Laughlin
Meanwhile, Ben Laughlin, the Australian fast-bowler was left dumbstruck by the master-class from the young wicket-keeper batsman. The pacer hailed the pacer for the herculean knock after which he took to Twitter and compared him with Sir Donald Bradman, the legendary Aussie cricketer. He wrote
Sanju Sampson = Don Bradman
Here is the tweet
However, he wrote the spelling of Samson incorrectly, which he realized quite sometime later. Thereafter, he dropped another tweet in which he sarcastically asked Ben Stokes to rectify the errors he makes. Here is what he wrote
Hahahah @benstokes38 will need to check my spelling from now on
Here’s the other tweet
