IPL 2018: IPL Player Auction witnessed 46.5 million viewers tuning in on Star Sports network
The IPL Auction has once again broken a few records in terms of viewership.
The recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) Auction witnessed 46.5 million viewers tuning in on Star Sports network which has been absolutely phenomenal. The media rights for the eleventh edition was bought by Star India at a whopping price of over 16000 crores. The two-day mega event was telecasted on 6 channels including Star Sports 1 (SD+HD), Star Sports1 Hindi (SD+HD), Star Sports First & Star Sports 1 Tamil.
Quoting BARC viewership data, Star said viewership jumped 5 times on TV as well as on its digital platform, Hotstar. The Star India has worked regressively with full fortitude and one will have to say, it has paid in the best manner possible. They have just turned it around both for populous as well as for themselves, delivering the best in the business which eventually helps them stand out from the other broadcasters.

Rahul Johri, the CEO of the BCCI believes that the Indian Premier League (IPL) brings joys to the families all around the world and heading into the eleventh edition, he is expecting it to bring more excitement that the first decade. He also believes that six-weeks of extravaganza will change the face of sports broadcasting in India.
