Jofra Archer hasn’t made his international debut yet, but he has already generated a fair amount of hype with the skills he possesses. After his sterling performances in English county and the Big Bas League (BBL) in Australia, he was bagged by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for a staggering INR 7.2 crores for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He missed the first game owing to a side strain and made his IPL debut against the Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. He impressed right away by churning out three wickets and clocked genuine pace, which pushed them back. Recently, as per reports in the Hindustan Times, he talked about his goal in the upcoming matches of the tournament.

The target for Jofra Archer

My personal aim was to be the highest wicket-taker this IPL. That was the target I set after I was picked by Rajasthan Royals but I missed the first few matches due to a side strain. So, I don’t know whether I would be able to do that now. But in the remaining games, I want to take two to three wickets every match. That’s my target now.” Archer iterated.

Prior to the IPL, the cricketer was ruled out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to the same injury. Meanwhile, the impressive show has turned the spotlight on him and expectations will be high from the fast-bowling all-rounder. However, Archer isn’t perturbed by them and also pledged to attain the desired level of fitness to play cricket.

I don’t think it (attention) is affecting me. A lot of things can change drastically in this format. My focus is to do well for Rajasthan. I am working on my fitness and hopefully, I will be able to reach the optimum level very soon.” the Barbados-born cricketer added.
