The sight of the ball flying over the ropes was back at the Chinnaswamy Stadium as the fans in Bangalore witnessed a run feast between Rajasthan Royals and the home team. Sanju Samson’s unbeaten 92-run knock included ten maximums as the visitors finished with 217/4 on the board. The Royal Challengers Bangalore began their chase well with Virat Kohli recording his fastest IPL fifty. But the wickets in middle overs cost them the game as they finished with 198/6.

5 – Number of times Umesh Yadav conceded excess of 50 runs in an IPL game. These are the most number of fifties with the ball for any player in the IPL. Ashok Dinda conceded 50 and more runs in an IPL game on four occasions.


10 – Sanju Samson became the first Rajasthan Royals player to hit ten sixes in an innings. Yusuf Pathan hit eight sixes in an IPL inning on two different occasions in 2010 IPL season. Samson is also the 2nd Indian player after Murali Vijay (11 vs RR, 2010) to hit ten sixes in an IPL inning.


26Virat Kohli’s 26-ball fifty in this game is his fastest in the Twenty20 format. Kohli scored two fifties in 28 balls in the IPL. He scored two fifties in the CLT20 with both of them coming off 28 balls only.


73 – Yuzvendra Chahal became the leading wicket-taker for RCB in the IPL with 73 wickets to his name. He surpassed Vinay Kumar’s tally of 72 wickets with the two scalps in this game.


88 – The 88 runs scored by  Rajasthan Royals in the last five overs are the joint 2nd most for any team in an IPL inning. RCB scored 112 runs against Gujarat Lions in 2016 and also 88 runs in the 2015 match against Mumbai Indians.


217/4 – Rajasthan Royals’ total of 217/4 in this game is their joint 2nd highest total in the IPL. They made 223/5 against CSK in 2010 and 217/7 against DC in 2008 both while chasing. This is also the 2nd highest IPL total for a visiting team in Bangalore behind KKR’s 222/3 in 2008.


415 – The match aggregate of 415 runs is the highest in an IPL game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The 2016 IPL final between RCB and SRH witnessed a total of 409 runs in the 40 overs.
