Royal Challengers Bangalore added a much-needed win to their tally after two big losses as they defeated Daredevils by six wickets with help of an ABD special. Rishabh Pant’s 48-ball 85 and Shreyas Iyer’s 31-ball 52 helped DD to recover from a poor powerplay as they finished with 174/5 in their 20 overs. The home team lost two early wickets in the chase but AB de Villiers turned up with an aggressive inning. He struck ten fours and five sixes during his unbeaten 90-run knock to help RCB to chase down the target with 12 balls to spare.

8 – Number of times AB de Villiers completed his fifty in 25 and fewer balls in the IPL. Only David Warner (11) reached more fifties in 25 and few balls than AB de Villiers in the IPL.
16 – Number of man of the match awards for AB de Villiers in the IPL. Only Chris Gayle (20) won more player of the match awards in the IPL. Yusuf Pathan also won 16 man of the match awards in the IPL so far.
16 – Quinton de Kock’s runout was the 16th instance of Virat Kohli’s partner getting runout in the IPL. Rohit Sharma had his partner run out on 22 occasions in the IPL.
85 – Rishabh Pant’s 85-run knock is the highest individual score in the losing cause for Delhi Daredevils in IPL. Chris Morris scored an unbeaten 82 against Gujarat Lions in 2016 which they lost by one run.
90* – AB de Villiers’ unbeaten 90 is his highest score during a run-chase in the IPL. He scored an unbeaten 89 for RCB at the same venue in 2014 against SRH.
93.67 – AB de Villiers’ batting average in the IPL games against Delhi Daredevils in Bangalore. In the five innings, he scored 281 runs with three fifties and two 30+ scores.
3000 – AB de Villiers completed 3000 runs in the IPL for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He completed the milestone when he reached 78. De Villiers completed 3000 T20 runs for RCB when he reached 49 in this innings.
AB de Villiers also become the 11th player to score 1500 runs at a single venue in the T20 format. He completed 1500 T20 runs in Bangalore with a boundary off the first ball he faced in this game.
