IPL 2018: Match 3, KKR vs RCB - Weather Forecast
Currently, there are afternoon thunderstorms in the City of Joy and it will only increase in the lead up to the game.
The third match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will see the tussle between the franchises which have two of the most die-hard fan following. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will lock horns at the iconic Eden Gardens on Sunday. While there is a change in personnel for the home side at the helm who will be led by Dinesh Karthik, RCB are banking on their skipper Virat Kohli to come good. However, there has been a lot of rain in the lead up which might hamper the chances of staging a full game.
RCB are yet to win the coveted title and will be aiming to start the season on a high as Kohli has already made it clear that he will go for the jugular this time around. Karthik, however, would know that he has a task on his hands to handle the team comprised of just 19 players with some of them being injury prone. The contest though is expected to be a mouthwatering one and surely the crowd will be entertained.
Will it be shortened game?
According to Accu Weather, there is an afternoon thunderstorm expected as the temperature is hovering around 32 Degree Celsius. The chances of rain in the lead up to the game increase dramatically up to 51% by 6 PM. At the same time, thunderstorms will also arrive which might delay the start of the game as well. Though the drainage system at the Eden Gardens is the best and there should not be a problem for the game to happen. Even the chances of rain will decrease as the day will wear on.
There might be a passing shower during the match which will lead to a curtailed encounter it seems. Surely, the match won’t be abandoned as the KKR crowd will not have to go disappointed.
Overall verdict: The match will be most likely affected due to the rain and the heavens are expected to spare everyone just at the right time for the match. Though there will be light showers, expect the intriguing action to continue between the two teams.
