Chennai Super Kings climbed back to the top of the table with a convincing win against the Daredevils in a high-scoring fixture in Pune. A collective batting effort from the home side saw them finishing with a big total of 211/4 in their 20 overs. Delhi lost four crucial wickets early on leaving their inexperienced middle and lower order batsmen to chase a mountain. Rishabh Pant and Vijay Shankar’s fifties took Delhi Daredevils close to the target but could only finish with 198/5.
Shane Watson got benefitted by the on-field decision on an LBW appeal on the very first ball of the match. He utilized the opportunity to fullest with a brilliant 78-run knock that came in just 40 balls. Watson hit four fours and seven maximums during his stay and shared a 102-run opening stand with Faf du Plessis. He turned out to be the most valuable player of the match as he gained a value of 91.75 lakhs as per the CricTracker’s player value algorithm. Rahul Tewatia turned out to be the liable player of the match as he scored only three runs and failed to take a wicket.
Rishabh Pant once again showed his big-hitting skills added with a bit of maturity towards the chase. He scored 79 in 45 balls with seven fours and four sixes. MS Dhoni scored a 22-ball fifty which was valued at 60.75 lakhs while Ambati Rayudu continued his consistency despite his batting position. The orange cap holder scored 41 off 24 balls which earned him a value of 44.5 lakhs. Suresh Raina turned up the lowest value among the 22 players in this match as he scored only one run. Karn Sharma, who was brought in to the playing XI, didn’t get a chance to either bat or bowl in the match.
