IPL 2018: Match 36, SRH vs DD – Most Valuable and Liable Player of the game
Prithvi Shaw's 36-ball 65 wasn't enough for Daredevils to earn two points against Sunrisers.
The result of the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Daredevils ensured the home team moved closer to sealing a playoffs spot while the visitors are set to become the first team to be knocked out. The Sunrisers romped through a 7-wicket win with the help of contributions from their top order while chasing a modest-looking 164. SRH bowlers were good enough to restrict the Daredevils to 163/5 who were at one stage racing away with 89/1 after nine overs.
The India Under-19 captain Prithvi Shaw once again turned up with a brilliant inning for his team scoring 65 in just 36 balls which included six fours and three sixes. He took on the Sunrisers bowlers who are known for being economical in the powerplay. Shaw was thus the Most Valuable Player of the match despite ending up on the losing side as he earned a value of 76 lakhs according to the CricTracker’s Player Value Algorithm. It was Naman Ojha who took the Liable Player’s tag on his first appearance in the season having scored only one run.
Alex Hales was the Most Valuable Player of the match for the home team as he earned a value of 49.5 lakhs for his blitz at the top. He scored a 31-ball 45 with three fours and three sixes as SRH made 61 runs in the powerplay.
