Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a comfortable win over the Delhi Daredevils who became the first team to be out of contention for the playoffs with their 9th defeat of the season. Rishabh Pant continued his tremendous form in this season with yet another fifty while Abhishek Sharma’s blitz on debut helped DD post 181/4 on the board. The handy total never looked enough for the home side with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers turning up in the chase with big knocks in a must-win game.

1 – Sandeep Lamichhane became the first player from Nepal to feature in an IPL match. Delhi Daredevils fielded with Abhishek Sharma, Lamichanne and Prithvi Shaw who are aged under 19. This is the first time an IPL team fielded with three players aged less than 19 in a playing XI.
17 – AB de Villiers now has received 17 Man of the Match awards in the IPL. Only Chris Gayle (20) has more MoM awards in the IPL.
17y 283d – Nepalese spinner Sandeep Lamichhane became the 2nd youngest overseas player to feature in an IPL game. Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman made his IPL debut at the age of 17 years and 11 days for KXIP earlier this season.
26 – Virat Kohli’s 26-ball fifty in this match is his joint-fastest in the Twenty20 format. He scored a fifty off 26 balls against RR earlier this season.
31 – Rishabh Pant‘s 31 sixes are the most for any player in this season and also the most by a DD player in a single IPL edition. Pant’s sixes are the 2nd most by an Indian in an IPL season behind Kohli’s 38 in 2016.
582 – Runs Rishabh Pant has aggregated so far in this IPL season. These are the most number of runs scored by a player for Delhi Daredevils in an IPL season. He surpassed Gautam Gambhir’s 534 runs that he scored in the 2008 edition.
761 – Virat Kohli became the first player to score 700 IPL runs against DD. He has scored 761 runs against them in 18 innings including eight fifties. Kohli has scored 405 runs against DD in Delhi in just eight innings with the help of five fifties.
1002 – Amit Mishra became the 5th player and the 3rd spinner after Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla to deliver 1000 dot balls in IPL history.
