The Sunrisers Hyderabad brought an end to their five-match losing streak at the perfect time to join Chennai Super Kings in the finals while the Kolkata Knight Riders crashed out, putting an end to their winning streak. Rashid Khan was all over the Eden Gardens in the 2nd qualifier as he scored a 10-ball 34* to push his team’s total to 174/7. He turned the game towards SRH’s way with his 3-wicket haul as Knights finished with 160/9 after being placed at 93/2 after 10 overs.

Here are all the stats and numbers that were recorded during the Sunrisers’ thrilling win over the Knight Riders:

1Kolkata Knight Riders are the first team to field without four foreigners in their playing XI in a playoff/knockout game in the IPL. The last instance of KKR not playing with four overseas in an IPL game was in the first two matches of the 2011 edition.

3 – Khaleel Ahmed is only the 3rd player to make his IPL debut in a knockout/playoff match. Nayan Doshi made his debut for RCB against DC in the 2010 3rd place playoff while DD introduced Sunny Gupta against CSK in the 2012 Qualifier 2. Chris Jordon made his debut for SRH in the last year’s Eliminator after making his IPL debut for RCB in 2016.

4Rashid Khan is only the 4th player to score 30+ runs and take three wickets in an IPL playoff/knockout match. Shane Watson in the 2008 semis, Yusuf Pathan in 2008 final and Kieron Pollard in the 2010 semis are the other three players with the double.

340 – Rashid Khan became the first Sunrisers Hyderabad player to have 300+ strike-rate in an IPL game with his unbeaten 34 off 10 balls. The previous highest S/R in an innings for SRH was 260 by Ben Cutting during his 39* off 13 balls in the 2016 IPL final against RCB.

340 – Rashid Khan’s strike-rate of 340 is the 2nd highest for any player in an IPL playoff/knockout game (Min: 30 runs). Suresh Raina scored 87 off 24 balls against KXIP in the 2014 2nd qualifier at an S/R of 348.

498 – Runs Dinesh Karthik scored in this IPL season. These are the most for a keeper-captain in a Twenty20 series/tournament. He went past Adam Gilchrist’s tally of 495 runs in the 2009 IPL season.

4032 – Shikhar Dhawan became the 8th player and the 8th Indian to complete 4000 runs in the IPL. He reached the milestone with the 2nd run of his 24-ball 34-run innings.
