IPL 2018: Twitterati stunned with Billy Stanlake's height

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have got off to a great start in the IPL this year. They stand at the top of the points table winning all the three games that they’ve played thus far. The team has ensured that David Warner’s absence is not really felt although they’ve faltered a tad bit with their batting. As far as bowling is concerned, they’ve probably got the best lot of bowlers amongst all the teams. Furthermore, there are some good quality fast bowlers warming the bench.

Of all the quicks in the Sunrisers set-up, an Aussie is grabbing a lot of attention. Billy Stanlake who played all the three games fared decently well with the ball. He picked some crucial wickets and has restricted the oppositions. However, there is something else other than his bowling that is raising a lot of eyebrows.

Billy Stanlake – The tallest player to have played in the IPL

Jason Holder was the tallest player to have played in the IPL until 2016. Jason Holder stands 6’7 inches tall from the ground. But, Billy Stanlake replaced him on the list last year when he was picked. Billy is a massive 6’8 inches tall and is taking everyone by surprise. Interestingly, he represented Royal Challengers Bangalore last season and also played two games for them. But, he wasn’t impactful enough and had to be benched. He worked quite a lot of his bowling since then and also remodelled his action a bit.

The fans were also quite surprised looking at Billy‘s height. In fact, many of them also are seeing the funnier side of it. There are various memes on the social media about Billy Stanlake’s height. Stanlake was also awarded the Man of the Match in the last game against Kolkata Knight Riders after returning impressive figures of 2/21. He picked 5 wickets for the Sunrisers till now and is also in contention for the Purple Cap.
