IPL 2018: Young Ishan Kishan congratulates CSK on reaching the IPL final
The Suer Kings have entered yet another playoff this season.
IPL saw one of the most edge-of-the-seat matches of this season, quite fitting to the status of a Qualifier. At the end of the nail-biting match, Chennai Super Kings pulled off another unbelievable victory and reached the finals of the IPL yet another time. Including this year, CSK has played the finals a whopping 7 times in the tournament, and won two of them back to back in 2010 and 2011.
Congratulations poured in from all sides all-over the social media for the men in yellow. Among them was young cricketer Ishan Kishan. He lauded the team for being the first to qualify for the finals, and also left a word for the star player of the evening, Faf du Plessis – ‘epic’. It was quite an apt representation of the innings he played.
Here is what Ishan Kishan had to say
Kishan wrote, “Congratulations to @ChennaiIPL on being the first side to qualify for the @IPL final. Epic from @faf1307.”
Kishan has said in previous interviews about being a fan of MS Dhoni. Both of them hail from the same city – Jharkhand, and it is MSD and his unorthodox style that encouraged and influenced him to take up wicket-keeping seriously. Kishan was seen taking wicket-keeping tips from the CSK skipper after the two teams faced off during the league stages.
As for CSK, the team will get a four day rest before they face off the second finalist on Sunday instead of fighting out for the place in the 2nd Qualifier. But making that happen was not an easy task in the match. The dangerously seesawing match could have been anybody’s at any point, but right before the 18th over, it really seemed to have favoured SRH for the evening.
But it was too early to speak, as du Plessis (67 off 42) and surprise package Shardul Thakur (15 off 5) turned the tables and took the game away from SRH. From 43 needed off 18 at one point, it came down to just 6 needed from the last over. Faf finished the game with a lofty six into the crowds, before the yellow brigade poured into the grounds to celebrate.
