If you take a look at Mumbai and Bangalore, both sides have similar home grounds, small in size, a graveyard for bowlers. Yet, the Mumbai Indians have done a tremendous job over the years because of the high-quality pacers they had and have like Lasith Malinga, Mitchell Johnson, Jasprit Bumrah, etc.
Apart from having Mitchell Starc in their lineup in 2015, RCB never really had a marquee fast bowling in their ranks who could lead the bowling unit. With Dale Steyn coming in, that void is half-filled already and the rest he can fill in only with his performances. Apart from AB de Villiers, not many have managed to give the Steyn-gun a hard time in the IPL and that’s a testament to the logic behind this signing.
