IPL 2019: 3 under-performing cricketers who should be dropped for the rest of the season
The first two weeks have been buccaneering, flabbergasting and thoroughly heartbreaking for a few.
3. Shardul Thakur (Chennai Super Kings)
Many might disagree with this, but Shardul Thakur has not been up to the mark this season. While Deepak Chahar has been doing a lot of fine work in the first few overs during the powerplay, Thakur is struggling to hit the right areas and is over-compensating on occasions.
Thakur didn’t bowl in the first game against RCB and got to roll his arm for just two overs in the second, giving away 19 runs. Against Rajasthan and Mumbai, he was too expensive to MSD’s liking and proved to be a burden in the death overs. Chennai might plant some of the other options available like the experienced Mohit Sharma or the exciting youngster KM Asif.
