IPL 2019: 5 uncapped players franchises should not have released
The IPL franchises submitted the set of retained and released players a couple of weeks ago but their decisions with these players might have been flawed.
5. Manzoor Dar (Kings XI Punjab)
After various struggles to make it all the way to the first-class level, Manzoor Dar finally caught the attention of the IPL franchises with an impressive display for Jammu & Kashmir in the 2016/17 season. The hard-hitting middle-order batsman didn’t get any opportunity to prove his worth and was eventually sent backpacking to the auction.
Kings XI had a serious concern in the middle order as KL Rahul was the sole warrior with the willow for them. To put him in that middle order would’ve been a pretty difficult test, but his domestic record was good enough to earn him that chance. As it turns out, Dar will have to wait for the auction day to see where fate takes him in the next season.
