It would be fair to say that Bipul Sharma was one of the underdogs of the Sunrisers side that lifted the trophy back in 2016. He contributed either with the bat or the ball, most significantly with his cunning slow left-armers. After losing his spot to the experienced Shakib Al Hasan in the 2018 edition, Bipul eventually was shown the exit doors by the franchise.

As Shakib has been struggling with injuries the Bangladesh Cricket Board would want to preserve him for the World Cup 2019 thus, there is a good chance he might not play even a single game this season. Although there’s Nadeem in the Hyderabad outfit, they will need a backup for him and with all the experience he boasts of, Bipul could’ve been a perfect retention.
