IPL 2019: 5 Unknown Indian players picked in the auction
Through this article, we take a look at five players who bagged lucrative IPL deals despite being relatively unknown in the cricketing fraternity.
2. Prayas Ray Barman
At an age when most of the kids work out to get into the age-group cricket, Prayas Ray Barman became the youngest-ever millionaire in the cash-rich IPL. The 16-year old allrounder, who can bowl leg-spin and score handy runs had two teams Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab interested in securing his services.
Thus the price went up from Rs 20 till they backed off and RCB made the signing bid. He was bought by the Royal Challengers for Rs 1.5 crore. He is definitely an unknown commodity and to have fetched such a big deal proves the franchises spotted something special.
Barman, whose best bowling figures in T20s is 4 for 20, will now share the dressing room with the likes of Indian captain Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers among other stars.
