Royal Challengers Bangalore team are suddenly on a winning run as they have registered victory in three of their last four games. They have defeated Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings in a close fought contests, with CSK losing the game by just one run. RCB team were hampered by injuries to their bowlers and form of their bowlers which was hurting them badly.

Except for leggie Yuzvendra Chahal, all other bowlers were given a handy stick in each of the matches they have played. Addition of South African pace legend Dale Steyn has been like a breath of fresh air to the Virat Kohli led team and one of the legends of the franchise, AB de Villiers has termed these two bowlers as the reasons behind the surge in wins of the team.

Yuzvendra Chahal is a special cricketer

“Yuzi is a special cricketer. He represented India in the world youth chess championship, so it’s no surprise that he brings meticulous plans and strategies to his leg-break bowling. His spell was magnificent on Sunday, as, giving the batsmen no flight at all, he conceded only 18 runs off 23 balls until MS launched his very last delivery over long-off,” AB de Villiers was quoted in his column for Times of India.

Chahal was instrumental in RCB’s win over CSK the other night, picking the important win of Ambati Rayudu for the cost of 24 runs in four overs. “Everybody at RCB is pulling together and fighting hard to stay in this tournament; and we were satisfied when, sent in to bat, we posted 161 (against CSK). We then survived an epic late onslaught by MS Dhoni, and scrambled home by the smallest possible margin,” De Villiers further wrote.

Dale Steyn brings in the X-Factor into the RCB team

One of the biggest reasons for RCB winning the match was Dale Steyn and the way he blew away Shane Watson and Suresh Raina, the stalwarts of the Dhoni-led team’s batting lineup. He had Watson caught in slips and then bowled Raina with an amazing yorker.

“Dale has brought pedigree power to our Powerplay, and his early dismissals of (Shane) Watson and (Suresh) Raina were hugely significant. He has brought X-factor to our attack, and our other seamers seem to feed off him, taking heart and confidence from his example,” De Villiers signed off.
