Nothing has been going right for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team since their final’s appearance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016. They failed to reach the playoffs in IPL 2017 and IPL 2018 and things have only gotten worse in the ongoing IPL 2019 edition. The Bengaluru based franchise is yet to win any match so far despite having played five matches.

RCB started IPL 2019 with an embarrassing loss to CSK when they were bowled out for 70 runs, but the performance was blamed on the poor Chepauk pitch. However, the bad performances continued and they suffered another searing loss when they were bowled out for 113 runs in a chase of 231 against SRH. In between, they faced a close defeat at the hand of Mumbai Indians (MI).

The fans have been supporting the RCB team through thick and thin through all these years, ever since Virat Kohli took over as captain. But the performances of the team under him have risen fingers at Kohli’s captaincy and fans are slowly but surely getting tired of seeing their team losing match after match.

The fans have had enough with the RCB performances

However, the last straw for the RCB fans came when they seemingly lost a match that they should have won against Kolkata Knight Riders at home. The Royal Challengers were looking well set to register their first win of the season after piling 205 for 3. Virat Kohli scored 84 while AB de Villiers scored 63 as the hosts scored their highest-ever total against the Knight Riders.

Then their bowlers continued the pressure on the Dinesh Karthik-led side and by the end of the 17th over, KKR was reeling at 153 for 5 while chasing 206. With 53 more runs needed to win the match off 18 balls, RCB had the match in grasp with only Andre Russell at the crease to make a match out of it.

And the hulk-like Jamaican hammered the RCB bowlers to all parts of the ground, as he slammed 48* in just 13 balls which included 7 sixes and 1 four. The stunned RCB crowd watched as KKR registered an amazing win with 5 balls to spare in the final over.

The fans were done with the RCB team, as they not only lost the match, but performed poorly on the field, dropping catches and not bowling to plans. In the end, the RCB supporters became so angry that they started throwing flags at the ground and in the stands.
