So, the Indian Premier League (IPL) caravan is moving swiftly. The 12th edition of the tournament has witnessed a fair share of controversies and arguments and it is only fair that the doubleheader weekend takes over the minds of the fans. The second game on Saturday will be between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

The Capitals lost their previous game to the CSK and to be honest, were over-ambitious batting first which led to them finishing with an under-par total. The young batting group has all the talent and if they justify it to the fullest on the given day, DC has the ability to go past any team in the competition. It won’t be easy for them to defeat the KKR though who will be playing their first away game of the season.

The KKR are sitting at the top of the points table and are only one of the two teams to have won both their matches so far. But they played both their encounters in front of their home crowd and they will be tested thoroughly by the Delhi Capitals. Last year, they lost three matches away from home and the team will be eager to better the record this year. They will be high on confidence after a couple of resounding victories as well.

Pitch and Weather

The Kotla pitch is known to slow down considerably in the second half of the innings. But the way the CSK chased down the target in the previous game, the teams might opt to bowl first after winning the toss. There is a chance of light showers in the lead up to the match. But that shouldn’t be worrisome as the clouds will clear by the time the match starts and the temperature will hover around 28 Degrees Celsius.

The Delhi Capitals are set to be boosted with Chris Morris in the playing XI. Finally, they will get a proper all-rounder who can bat extremely well at number six after the first two matches. Keemo Paul is a quality player but number six a bit too high for him to bat. Morris could be a game-changing player and has the ability to nail his yorkers as well. It is a surprise why Sandeep Lamichhane didn’t play in the first two matches and he might replace Rahul Tewatia in this game.

Even Nitish Rana is looking unstoppable and with Andre Russell in such brutal form, they are the team to beat this season. Dinesh Karthik hasn’t even come to bat and even he is having a calm head over his shoulders.
