IPL 2019: Match 35, KKR vs RCB – Predicted top performer based on stats and records for Fantasy Cricket
He has four 40-plus scores against RCB in the last six matches.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) hasn’t had much to cheer in this edition’s Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise, captained by Virat Kohli, has lost seven out of their eight matches and are languishing at the bottom of the points table. Not only do they need to win all their matches, but also have to take care of their Net Run Rate (NRR) that isn’t in the greatest of shapes at -1.114.
Last time around, they got the Mumbai Indians (MI) by the scruff of their necks, but Hardik Pandya laid into left-arm spinner Pawan Negi and slapped them with a defeat by five wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With that defeat, it can well and truly be said that the RCB’s campaign in the T20 tournament is all, but over, barring some miracle or some supernatural powers.
Their next contest is against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In their last meeting, Andre Russell demolished the Challengers with a 13-ball 48 and RCB would pretty well remember the carnage inflicted by the hulk-like Jamaican. Their bowlers aren’t in the greatest of form and bowling with short boundaries at the Eden won’t be an easy task by any means.
As far as the next match is concerned, apart from the 30-year-old Russell, RCB need to be wary of another Knight and that’s opener Chris Lynn, who has an excellent record against the franchise. The Queenslander was also impressive when the KKR last met RCB at the M Chinnaswamy in Bangalore.
Record against the opposition (RCB):
220 runs in 6 IPL innings at an average of 44 with 2 fifties
6 innings vs RCB – 43, 62*, 5, 50, 15, 45
Record at the venue (Eden Garden, Kolkata):
428 runs in 13 T20 innings at an average of 32.92 with 2 fifties
Last 6 innings in Kolkata – 82, 10, 7, 18, 48, 45
Recent form:
Last 5 innings – 82, 0, 50, 43, 20
Dream11 Scenario:
He costs 9.5 credits in the all-rounder’s category and is picked by 70% of teams.
