IPL 2019, Match 36, RR vs MI: Match Prediction – Weather Report, Pitch Conditions, Playing XIs and Live Streaming Details
Buttler spoiled Mumbai's party last time around.
Time is running out for the Rajasthan Royals (RR). They should’ve planned the chase better against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and now will have to win every match from here on to stay in the contention for the playoffs. The challenge will get stiff for them as the Royals will host the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Mumbai are on a roll at the moment having won six matches out of nine and are sitting pretty at the second position in the points table. They are coming off a thumping 40-run win over the Delhi Capitals (DC) and adapted well to the conditions the other day at Kotla. Though the Royals have given them tough competition over the last couple of years and Rohit Sharma’s men would love to break the hoodoo.
Ajinkya Rahane, on the other hand, moved down the order as Rahul Tripathi opened the innings. But him coming out to bat at four with the team needing 86 off just 50 balls wasn’t a wise move one felt. The likes of Ashton Turner and Stuart Binny should’ve been promoted and the Royals simply need to take better decisions when it comes to such moments.
Pitch Conditions
The pitch in Jaipur has slowed down considerably as the season has progressed and the same has been experienced in the last couple of matches. It won’t be a high-scoring match and anything over 150-160 should turn out to be a match-winning total.
Weather Report
The sun has been beating down in Jaipur this season. The 4 PM start will take its toll on the players as the temperature will hover around 34 Degrees Celsius. There won’t be dew as well and it will only come around 8 PM by the time which the game ends.
Team Combinations
Rajasthan Royals
The Royals are unlikely to make any changes but there might be a change in the batting order for them. Rahul Tripathi will continue to open while the skipper Ajinkya Rahane should look to bat at three and drop Sanju Samson at four. Rather they can promote the likes of Turner and Binny up the order who can tonk the ball from the word go. Ben Stokes’ fitness is still unknown and he might replace Turner if fit.
Probable XI: Jos Buttler, Rahul Tripathi, Ajinkya Rahane (c), Sanju Samson (wk), Ashton Turner, Stuart Binny, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat, Ish Sodhi.
Mumbai Indians
MI won the previous game but they will definitely make at least a change to their line-up for this encounter. Ishan Kishan, if fit, comes straight back into the XI for Jayant Yadav. The punt on Ben Cutting failed against DC and he didn’t even bowl. This might tempt them to bring back the new-ball bowler Jason Behrendorff. The rest of the team is likely to be the same.
Probable XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Lasith Malinga, Rahul Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Ben Cutting/Jason Behrendorff.
Probable Top Performers
Jos Buttler – RR | Quinton de Kock – MI
