IPL 2019: One benched player from each team who should get a chance
These players should get an opportunity to showcase their skills.
2. Sherfane Rutherford (DC)
Delhi Capitals started the tournament on a positive note by beating MI in their den but at the end six games, they have won only three of them. The Delhi franchise has a good batting order but they lack a finisher, a role which is very important in white ball cricket. The team consists of a couple of WI power hitters, and one of them is Sherfane Rutherford. The Guyanese all-rounder entered the fray in the CPL 2018 and immediately Rutherford showed his batting prowess when he scored run-a-ball 46 against Barbados Tridents.
He also played some cameos for the Guyana Amazon Warriors and ended the CPL with 170 runs in 8 innings with a strike rate of 144. He was snapped by the Khulna Titans in the BPL but missed the league due to injury. His power hitting was on show when he smashed 46 off 20 balls in T10 league against Maratha Arabians, which included 6 sixes, and he can be a handy bowler too. Delhi needs a power hitter down the order and Sherfane Rutherford can be the perfect find for the franchise in coming games.
