IPL 2019: SRH give green signal to two players ahead of next match
The Orange Army lost their last two games against MI and KXIP.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) made a losing start to this edition’s Indian Premier League (IPL) after getting beaten by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. However, the Orange Army made a stupendous comeback, winning three back-to-back games and also raced away to the top of the points table. Moreover, their Net Run Rate (NRR) also jumped up significantly.
However, things haven’t quite gone their way in the last two matches. First, they were beaten black and blue by the Mumbai Indians (MI) when Alzarri Joseph’s six-wicket haul bowled them out for 96 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Subsequently, they lost by 40 runs. Thereafter, the team got beaten by Ravichandran Ashwin’s Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.
Two massive inclusions for SRH
However, in those games, one of their key players in Kane Williamson- didn’t feature regularly. He came into the tournament with a back injury that he suffered during New Zealand’s second Test against Bangladesh. Prior to the tournament, VVS Laxman mentioned that the Kiwi cricketer will lead the franchise. But, Williamson only featured in one game against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).
The batter missed four out of the five games. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been leading the SRH team in his absence. Currently, SRH are on a break and the franchise is next scheduled to play their next encounter against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Sunday, April 14 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad (SRH). Meanwhile, it has been learned that Kane is fit for the next match.
Tom Moody, the head coach of the Sunrisers, confirmed the news on his official Twitter handle. Currently, Jonny Bairstow, David Warner, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi are the four overseas players in the SRH lineup and it would be interesting to find who makes way for the Black Cap. Moody also mentioned that fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed is fit to play the next game.
