The fixtures of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 for the first two weeks were announced on Tuesday. The tournament begins on March 23 and the franchises will now gear up for their final leg of preparation ahead of the T20 carnival. The IPL 12 is also important for players since the ICC World Cup is due soon after it concludes as quite a few of them who are not in the reckoning will try to make use of the platform to try to make it to the WC squad.

One such name is Yuvraj Singh. The dashing left-hander has not played for India for a while now and is not getting younger either. His capacity with the bat still convinces many about him getting a nod for yet another World Cup. Yuvraj was picked by Mumbai Indians (MI) in the last minutes in this year’s auction and the Punjab batsman now is looking forward to making use of the opportunity the most.

Yuvraj recently tweeted saying he was looking forward to being with Rohit Sharma, the big-hitting India opener who also captains MI and led them to three titles since 2013. He also asked if there was any hint on what was coming at him in his stint with yet another IPL franchise.

Rohit, who shared a cordial relation with Yuvraj Singh, replied to the latter’s tweet asking him to bring his “usual passion” and leave the rest to the dressing room to sort. “Just bring your usual passion. The dressing room will sort out the rest. @NetflixIndia, have any tips?” Rohit’s reply read.

Yuvraj was not in good touch last season

Yuvraj Singh was not in a great touch last season when he played for the Kings XI Punjab, managing just 65 runs in eight games at a poor average of 28. The man, who has missed just one edition since 2008 when the tournament started, otherwise has an impressive record in the tournament with over 2,600 runs in 128 matches at a strike rate of almost 130.

The cricketer, who was adjudged the Man of the Series in the 2011 World cup, however, is looking forward to the tournament this year with a renewed zeal and said a few days earlier that he wants to share the burden with Rohit.
