IPL 2020: 3 players you can exclude from your Dream11 team for MI vs KKR game
Confused over which player to leave out from your Fantasy team? Have a look.
Mumbai Indians continued their tradition of losing their first game of the season, as they suffered an unfortunate loss to Chennai Super Kings in the first game of IPL 13. A lot of Mumbai Indians players batsmen rusty and their bowling failed to produce the magic they were expected to. To make matters worse, their fielding was very sloppy as well.
Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, will start with a blank slate and while their last season wasn’t great, they will be looking to make amends this year. Most of their overseas players have had match practice recently and that will hold them in good stead. However, injury concerns related to a lot of players is an issue that still persists.
Here are 3 players who could be excluded from your Dream11 Fantasy team:
1. Krunal Pandya (8.5 credits)
Krunal Pandya had an extremely disappointing first match. He conceded 37 runs in his 4 overs picking just one wicket and could contribute only 3 runs when his team needed him. In general, the pitches have been favouring pacers as of now, and with Pandya not being an inherently muscular player, he is going to struggle to clear the longer boundaries as a batsman too.
Add to that KKR have 3-4 left-handers in the top 7 and playing with the spin they might be able to score big runs against him. Hence, Pandya is unlikely to contribute something substantial to the team in this game.
2. Jasprit Bumrah (9 credits)
Another Mumbai player who didn’t perform to his potential in the first game was Jasprit Bumrah. Since sustaining his first really serious injury in international cricket in September last year, Bumrah hasn’t been the bowler he had become famous for.
He looked rusty on his return in January, and yet again at Abu Dhabi, Bumrah failed to get a grip over his line and length and ended up conceding 43 runs in 4 overs. His famous yorkers didn’t make a single appearance in the match. With a number of talented pacers in this game, it would be better to avoid going for Bumrah till he regains his form and rhythm.
3. Sunil Narine (10 credits)
While the dashing all-rounder from Trinidad had a good run in the CPL scoring 144 runs in 5 innings and picking up 6 wickets. However, the conditions in UAE are very different. The pacers have dominated up till now and all the teams are aware of Narine’s weakness against the short ball especially Mumbai Indians who have exploited it well.
Narine has a dismal record against MI as a batsman scoring just 32 runs in 8 innings. The pitches haven’t really produced much turn for the spinners either especially in Abu Dhabi. Hence for these reasons you should avoid taking Narine for this match.
