IPL 2020: 5 all-rounders who can start bidding wars in the auction
The top international all-rounders will be at the top of each IPL franchises’ wishlist.
James Neesham (New Zealand)
The New Zealand all-rounder was out of the equation in the last season of IPL when he went unsold in the player auction. But on the back of some impressive performances for both the national side and his T20 clubs, James Neesham is once again the centre of attraction in the T20 leagues around the world. Neesham had a brilliant World Cup and Caribbean Premier League in 2019.
In this year’s World Cup in which his side lost a controversial final against the hosts England, the left-handed batsman was the third-highest run-scorer for his team with 232 runs under his belt and took as much as 15 wickets. He was one of the contenders for the Player of The Tournament award. In the last edition of the CPL as well, he was in scintillating form taking 11 wickets in 10 matches. He even contributed with the bat down the order whenever he got the chance.
With some of the key all-rounders injured or having injury concerns, Neesham might turn out to be a apt replacement for the likes of injured Hardik Pandya or Kieron Pollard of Mumbai Indians and injury-prone Andre Russell of Kolkata Knight Riders. Some other teams will also try to acquire the services of this in form Kiwi all-rounder.
