The South African all-rounder had a roller coaster of a ride in the last few editions of the IPL. Before the mega editions at the start of 2018, he was one of the three players which were retained by the Delhi Capitals. But following his below-average performance especially with the bat, he was released by the Capitals for the upcoming edition of the tournament.

Last season, Morris had an ordinary outing which resulted in his downfall. He played 9 games for his side taking 13 wickets which is indeed a good performance if not the best. But the main problem with Morris was his dismal batting for which Delhi paid him the big bucks. He scored only 32 runs at an embarrassing average of 5.

Still, Morris is a regular in the South African limited-overs squad. That’s why he will be one of the most wanted all-rounders in the upcoming auction. Probably Delhi will try their best to buy him back at a much lower price plus they will be able to buy a couple of other good players in the remaining budget. Because after playing at their home ground for so long, Morris must be knowing the Delhi conditions well.
