IPL 2020: DC's Shreyas Iyer forgets team changes at the toss; SRH skipper David Warner comes to his rescue
DC beat SRH in the IPL's second qualifier to make it to the final
Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the second qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday to make it to the final. It was a brilliant performance from both the teams on the day but the Capitals kept their nerve in crunch moment to win the match by 17 runs in the end. Marcus Stoinis was named the Man of the Match for his exceptional all-round display for DC.
Though the action in the middle was tense with a place in the final at stake, the captains of both teams, Shreyas Iyer and David Warner, were involved in a hilarious incident at the toss before the match. Mark Nicholas was the presenter in the middle for the toss who was interviewing the skippers and when DC won the toss, he asked Iyer about the changes in the team.
The Capitals had made two changes for the crucial game leaving out Prithvi Shaw and Daniel Sams for Shimron Hetmyer and Praveen Dubey. Hilariously though Shreyas Iyer forgot the second player they included in the playing XI after winning the toss. This is when Warner jumped in and informed his counterpart about the changes DC made in their line-up.
The SRH skipper knew about the changes as two sides exchange team information with each other just before the toss and accordingly, Warner was able to help Shreyas Iyer even as it was all smiles in the middle.

DC knock SRH out to qualify for IPL final
As far as the action in the middle is concerned, DC put their best foot forward in the must-win game and stunned SRH with their intent from the word go. Opening the innings with Marcus Stoinis worked wonders for them as he and Shikhar Dhawan added 86 runs in less than nine overs for the opening wicket. Shimron Hetmyer batted well in his comeback game to help the team post 189 runs in 20 overs.
In response, SRH tried hard to gun down the total. But DC bowlers were too good and they defied the spirited Kane Williamson who fought hard to take his team over the line.
