IPL 2020: Irfan Pathan picks three youngsters to watch out for

IPL can be a breakthrough event for all youngsters for presenting their talent at the biggest stage. A lot of cricketers who have shown promise in the cash-rich league have played for India.

The Indian Premier League is just 12 days away. The whole cricket fraternity is excited as the extravaganza is going to happen after a long halt due to COVID-19. While the IPL has a great mixture of Indian and international players, it provides a great platform for the uncapped players to showcase their talent as well.

Irfan Pathan, the former Indian fast bowler, took to Twitter to name the 3 uncapped players who can make their name in the upcoming season. The three names included Yashaswi Jaiswal, Ravi Bishnoi and Abdul Samad.

“Looking forward to seeing three youngsters prosper this ipl season 1) @yashasvi_j @rajasthanroyals 2) Ravi Bishnoi @lionsdenkxip 3) Abdul Samad @SunRisers. I’m sure all three will do well for their respective franchise also players to watch out for Indian cricket.what’s your pick?” he tweeted.

Yashaswi Jaiswal is known as the next prodigy of Indian cricket as he has earned a name for him in Indian domestic circuit. He grabbed the headlines last year, as he became the youngest player to score a List A double hundred.

The Under 19 World Cup was even better for the southpaw, as scored more than 400 runs against for India in the showpiece event and won the player of the event as well. He will be playing for Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming season and will be hoping to make his case stronger for an India call up.

Ravi Bishnoi, the leg spinner from Rajasthan will be featuring in IPL 2020 for Kings Eleven Punjab. He was the highest wicket-taker in the Under 19 World Cup 2020 and the youngster is regarded as one of the brightest prospects of Indian cricket. His googlies at pace distressed the batsmen throughout the tournament. Under Anil Kumble’s direction, Bishnoi will look to shine at Kings XI Punjab.

Irfan Pathan has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in past and he was the one who asked them to bid for Abdul Samad. Samad hails from Jammu and Kashmir and the 18-year-old is considered as a hard-hitting batsman. Irfan Pathan has seen his big-hitting batting prowess when he was appointed as a mentor of the Jammu Kashmir cricket and the all-rounder has worked very closely with the youngsters there.
