Mumbai Indians registered their 4th consecutive win of IPL 2020 to top the points table by defeating the Delhi Capitals on Sunday. Despite an unbeaten 69 off 52 by Shikhar Dhawan, the Delhi franchise posted only 162/4 after electing to bat first. The Delhi team could only get 82/3 in their final ten overs. The MI’s chase was built on the fifties from Quinton de Kock (53 off 36) and Suryakumar Yadav (53 off 32) who brought down the required rate to as low as 6.5 by 15th over. The Mumbai franchise completed the chase with two balls and five wickets to spare.

1 – Mumbai Indians now has a win percentage of more than 50 against all the remaining seven active teams in the IPL. Their head to head record against Delhi franchise in the IPL before MI vs DC was 12-12.
MI’s biggest chase over DC:
163 – Mumbai Indians’ 163-run chase is now their highest successful run-chase in the IPL against Delhi Daredevils/Capitals. In fact, this is only the 3rd time MI defeated the Delhi franchise while chasing a target out of eight matches. Mumbai chased down a target of 96 during the 2011 season game in Delhi and 153 during the 2015 edition in Mumbai against the Delhi franchise.
Rohit Sharma’s milestone game:
150 – The MI vs DC game is the 150th match in the IPL of Rohit Sharma for Mumbai Indians. He is now the 5th player to feature in 150 IPL matches for a franchise after Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni for CSK, Virat Kohli for RCB and Kieron Pollard for MI.
Hardik’s birthday duck:
4 – Hardik Pandya became the first Indian and only the 4th player in the history of IPL to bag a duck on a birthday. Misbah-ul-Haq (34th birthday vs MI, May 28th 2008), Chris Morris (29th birthday vs KKR, April 30th 2016) and Andre Russell (30th birthday vs RCB, April 29th 2018) are the other three players with an IPL duck on a birthday. Hardik Pandya was celebrating his 27th birthday during the MI vs DC game.
3 – Hardik Pandya now has dismissed for a duck three times in the IPL against the Delhi franchise. Glenn Maxwell (7 innings) and Shane Warne (6 innings) also bagged three ducks apiece in the IPL against Delhi franchise. Hardik, in ten innings against Delhi, scored only 121 runs at an average of 15.13.
Pant misses an IPL match after four years:
60 – Rishabh Pant misses an IPL match for the first time since his debut during the 2016 season. Pant made his IPL debut in the middle of the 2016 IPL against Gujarat Lions and played all the 60 IPL games played by Delhi franchise from there on until Friday’s game against Rajasthan Royals.
Milestones for Rahane and Dhawan:
5003 – Ajinkya Rahane completed 5000 runs in the Twenty20 format with the 3rd four he struck in MI vs DC. Rahane is now the 10th player from India to have aggregated as many as 5000 runs in T20 cricket.
100 – Shikhar Dhawan hit the only six of Delhi Capitals’ inning which was also his 100th six in the IPL. Dhawan is now the 20th player and the 12th Indian to have struck 100 sixes in the IPL.
