Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have started their campaign in an ideal manner. They have won four out of their six games and their team is looking better than any previous season. Also, their worry of not having their best batsman and skipper Virat Kohli in form is gone with the Delhi lad’s impeccable match-winning innings against CSK.

RCB has always had a solid batting order, but their bowling has struggled more often than not. However, things are different this season as they are equipped with four pace options and two phenomenal spinners in their ranks. However, the next game can bring different challenges as the dimensions of the ground are quite distinct at Sharjah and with small boundaries and batting-friendly pitch, their bowling is expected to get tested against KKR’s power hitters.

Here’s the predicted XI of RCB for Match 28, RCB vs KKR:-

Openers (Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal)

Aaron Finch has had a mixed season till now. He has played a couple of blistering knocks but has failed to get a start in other matches. On a batting paradise like Sharjah, Finch would want to score big, considering the conditions. Padikkal has scored three fifties in six games till now and has impressed in his short IPL career. However, he would want to increase his strike rate in the upcoming games which has been on the lower side.

Middle Order (Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Gurkeerat Singh Mann)

Virat Kohli played an amazing knock in the last game and will continue with the role of an anchor. AB de Villiers has not played a convincing knock since his two fifties in the three games. He would want to take some time in the beginning so that he can strike as a finisher in the end. Gurkeerat will play the role of a floater and his batting position will depend on the top order’s performance.

All-rounders (Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar and Chris Morris)

RCB’s batting has depth with their three all-rounders at number 6, 7 and 8. All three can hit big shots and Sundar and Shivam have already proved it in this season. Sundar is a very important bowler for them in the powerplay as well. His off-spin has been quite economical and he has been one of the most successful bowlers of the season.

Shivam Dube is also a handy option with the ball. He has bowled excellently at the death and in the middle overs as well. Morris is one of their most important death bowlers. He made his RCB debut in the last game and impressed everyone with his three-wicket haul.

Bowlers (Navdeep Saini, Isuru Udana and Yuzvendra Chahal)

After having one bad game against DC, Saini came back with his impressive spell against CSK. Considering the pitch will be slow in the next game, Chahal’s leg-spin and Udana’s cutters could be impactful. With such a skilled bowling unit, RCB would want to restrict KKR for a below-par total.
